Ms Anita HOBSON-POWELL

Ms Anita Hobson-Powell is a nationally recognised health leader and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Deans Australia and New Zealand. With extensive experience across policy, workforce development, and system reform, Anita has played a key role in shaping Australia’s health workforce.
Anita previously served as the Australian Government’s Chief Allied Health Officer, where she led the development of the first National Allied Health Workforce Strategy. Prior to this, Anita was the Chief Executive Officer of Exercise & Sports Science Australia, advancing the recognition of exercise physiologists within the health, aged care, and disability systems.
She also served as the Vice President of Allied Health Professions Australia and as the Chair of the National Alliance of Self-Regulating Health Professions.
Anita brings deep expertise in leadership, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy, and is passionate about building a sustainable, future-ready workforce and improving health outcomes for all Australians.
